- Where to look
- Cucumbers, melons and squash, from the moment the seedlings emerge.
- How to know it
- Small and yellow with three black stripes down the back, or with twelve spots.
- What it does — and what to do
- The real harm is bacterial wilt, which it carries — a beetle-free plant rarely wilts. Row cover until flowering, then remove it so bees can work.
