- Where to look
- Dark damp crevices by day; feeding on soft growth and ripe fruit at night.
- How to know it
- Slim brown insect with a pair of pincers at the rear.
- What it does — and what to do
- Genuinely both — it chews seedlings and dahlia petals, and it also eats aphids and codling moth eggs. A rolled newspaper or a stuffed flowerpot traps them if numbers get out of hand.
